I did SFX makeup for a plane crash simulation this included doing minor bruises and cuts over various actors which weren't the main focus of the simulation. The main SFX makeup I did was I helped with a large leg wound, our brief behind the wound was it is meant to be a gash where the top layer of skin has been removed with no bone being exposed. I learnt how to work on someone who was moving (they were doing makeup on someone else) this taught me how to adapt to my situation. Working on this set also taught me patience because after the makeup was done we went onto set where we had to wait for the simulation to be over which took several hours. This was a really good experience.
